The Directors
Ken Briggs
Hons BSc (Agric) (Stell), MSc Development Economics (Oxon)
Ken has over 25 years of professional management consulting experience. He has a unique mix of academic qualifications having post graduate degrees in a variety of disciplines including agriculture, economics and development economics. Prior to consulting, Ken worked for the Small Business Development Corporation, a development agency where he gained experience in enterprise development, specifically focusing on promoting economic empowerment through creating partnerships to support business development in disadvantaged communities. Ken initiated his consulting career with Deloitte & Touché in the firms’ operations, international lending agency (ILA) and public sector groups where he gained experience in business strategy, transformation, process reengineering and commercialisation. In FutureLead he has specialised in economics and development and over the years has undertaken significant work in the public and parastatal environments, where he has developed a special focus in the transport, tertiary education and agricultural sectors. In addition to his public sector work, Ken has extensive private sector experience in establishing and restructuring business ventures.
Dr Sithembile Mbete
PhD in International Relations
Dr Sithembile Mbete is the Programme Director of Apolitical Academy Southern Africa, the non-profit and non-partisan political training programme for emerging public leaders in Southern Africa. She is a tenured Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria (UP) where she teaches international relations and South African politics, a visiting researcher at the African Leadership Centre at King’s College London (KCL) and a member of the Joint Academic Committee of the KCL/UP Joint PhD in Leadership and Security Studies.
She is a member of the council of the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) and served as a member of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on the Electoral System.
Dr Mbete completed her PhD in International Relations at the University of Pretoria in 2018 with a thesis titled “The Middle Power Debate Revisited: South Africa in the UNSC, 2007-2008 and 2011-2012”. She completed her undergraduate, honours and masters degrees at the University of Cape Town. In 2014 she was a visiting scholar at the Department of Political Science and Balsillie School of International Affairs at the University of Waterloo in Canada.
Peter Rademan
BSc (Chem Eng) MBA (UCT)
Peter has over 30 years of professional management consulting experience, is a Director of FutureLead, and a former Associate Director of Deloitte Consulting. His 10-year career in industry prior to management consulting includes project management of large multi-disciplinary capital projects, operational efficiency improvements, and broad general management experience as the factory manager of an industrial manufacturing operation. His primary consulting focus areas are corporate strategy, organisational transformation and turnaround, business process re-engineering, information technology application, integrated transport planning, manufacturing and operations management, facilities management, preventative maintenance, project management, commercialisation, feasibility studies, financial modelling, and outsourcing. Industry sector experience, both local and international, includes financial services, public transport, public utilities, chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, food, higher education, tableware, health, agriculture, packaging, utilities, gaming, environmental conservation and the public sector at all levels.
Adv Johan Naudé
BA LLB IRDP (Stell)
Adv Johan Naudé holds a BA LLB degree from the University of Stellenbosch and was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 1982. His professional career has included positions as State Advocate, corporate legal advisor, general manager in enterprise development and as management consultant in South Africa and several other sub-Saharan countries. At FutureLead he has worked in the higher education, public transport, local government, tourism, public works, economic and enterprise development, environmental governance and social investment sectors. He established the specialist FutureLead practice area Higher Education Management Africa (HEMA), and serves as a trustee of the majority Black owned shareholder of FutureLead, the Lulamile Mbete Professional Development Trust. He is a Director of the on line newspaper, University World News Africa.
Botha Kruger
BA Hons, MA (Political Science), MBA
Botha is an experienced strategy consultant, project manager and researcher. He specialises in strategy development and organisational design and is an experienced facilitator of work groups, brainstorming and planning sessions. His background in political science and professional exposure to business and information technology start-ups combine to give him a unique perspective on individual and organisational issues within a broader societal context. He has led and project managed complex projects involving co-located and virtual teams, spanning geographical boundaries and time zones. Botha’s industry exposure includes ICT; FMCG; telecommunications; banking; retail; media and publishing; fisheries; agriculture, agro-processing and agribusiness; local, provincial and national government; tertiary education, not-for-profit, food processing; public finance; roads and transport. Fatima Salijee
BComm LLB
Fatima represents the corporate linkage between Hlatshwayo Du Plessis Van der Merwe Nkaiseng Attorneys (HVDN), a firm which has recently taken-up corporate membership of FutureLead. She is an admitted attorney practising with HVDN and participating on consulting assignments with FutureLead, often acting as a legal advisor. Currently, Fatima is reading towards her Masters degree in Corporate Law at the University of Johannesburg.
Nompumelelo ‘Mpumi’ Kubheka
B. Admin. (UNISA)
Over the past Mpumi and her firm, KG Business Development developed a close working relationship with FutureLead, working in association on a range of assignments. In 2017 this relationship became more formalised with Mpumi becoming an associate and being appointed as a trustee of the firms, Lulamile Mbete Professional Development Trust. In June 2021 Mpumi took up shareholding and directorship in FutureLead. Mpumi has a wide-ranging set of skills and experience as a skills development practitioner. She is Skills Development Facilitator with experience in advising organisations to comply with the Skills Development legislation. In addition, she also undertakes the assessment and moderation of a range of qualifications such as learnerships. Mpumi has a special focus on enterprise development, where she has successfully implemented SMME Capacitation and Enterprise Development. She has developed an enterprise support tool which encompasses a combination of approaches to ensure that emerging enterprise learning and experience is effectively accelerated. In her work she has led teams of business mentors to capacitate SMME’s, Co-operatives and NPO’s. She and her firm have been appointed by SETAs, the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) along with various National, Provincial, Local Government and the private sector clients to train and coach entrepreneurship.

An Kritzinger

An Kritzinger has a specialist background as development economist. She holds a Masters degree in Economics. She has been working as in the economic development field for more than twenty years. Her work has focussed on applied economic modelling in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Mozambique including economic impact analysis, economic cost benefit analysis, social incidence studies and macroeconomic forecast modelling. She also has extensive experience in skills demand forecasts for the tertiary education sector.
Eric Milton
BSc (Mathematics & Computer Science), CA (SA)
Eric is an Associate of FutureLead and has over 25 years of experience as a project manager and management consultant. He was previously a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in its consulting practice. He is experienced in Strategic Interventions, having facilitated the strategic planning processes, developed business plans and implemented marketing strategies for several clients. He assisted major Private and Public Sector clients with Organizational Renewal/Restructuring, Business Improvement, Business Process Management, major Change Initiatives and Capacity Building. He has conducted major ERP Strategies, Assessments, System Selection, System Design, Development and Implementation.
Rian Lamprecht
BA Hons; MA Clinical Psychology (UPE); PhD
Rian, has over twenty-five years experience in a range of organisational and business development consultancy, senior management and clinical roles. His expertise is in strategic planning and market assessment, project management in the integration of organisations, and service and product design. A further area of interest is in the impact of commercial and public sector activity on health of communities. In the UK he has held several corporate roles with the national health services, Durham University Business School, and Salomons; and completed consultancy assignments for government offices, regional development agencies, the Scottish health executive, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, and as an expert reviewer for the European Commission’ Peer Review for European Sustainable Urban Development.
Francois Pienaar

Francois Pienaar is an industrial engineer by background with further qualifications in business administration. His area of specialization is operations management with emphasis on business process design and implementation. He has successfully managed consulting and implementation assignments in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, heavy engineering, vehicle manufacturing, packaging and retail. Francois works regularly in conjunction with multi-disciplinary teams integrating inputs from strategy, marketing, finance, human resources and information systems with operational and business process considerations.
